چکیده
The effect of using trimethyladamantyl-ammonium hydroxide (TMAAOH) as a silica-modifying admixture to induce early-age mineralization during alkali-activation metakaolin was investigated and reported herein. In all material formulations, the use TMAAOH induced mineralization, increased mixture stiffening in fresh state, lowered total heat reaction. activating solutions with silica moduli above unity (Ms >1.0), mineralogy results demonstrate that induces nucleation growth metastable zeolitic phases, which correlated permeability plastic shrinkage paste. When added near ~1.0), controlled formation crystalline, silica-rich faujasite observed, reduced lower shrinkage. Together, these for first time silica-templating agents such can be exploited deisgn new chemical admixtures directly influence dynamics zeolitization alkali-activated materials.

Preparation and Properties of Alkali Activated Metakaolin-Based Geopolymer
The effective activation and utilization of metakaolin as an alkali activated geopolymer precursor and its use in concrete surface protection is of great interest. In this paper, the formula of alkali activated metakaolin-based geopolymers was studied using an orthogonal experimental design. It was found that the optimal geopolymer was prepared with metakaolin, sodium hydroxide, sodium silicate...
متن کاملStudy of Metakaolin-Based Geopolymer with Addition of Polymer Admixtures
In the present work, metakaolin-based geopolymer including different polymer admixtures was studied. Different types of commercial polymer admixtures VINNAPAS® and polyethylene glycol of different relative molecular weight were used as polymer admixtures. The main objective of this work is to investigate the influence of different types of admixtures on the properties of metakaolin-based geopol...
متن کاملEffects of Nano-SiO2 on Setting Time and Compressive Strength of Alkali- activated Metakaolin-based Geopolymer
This study presents a discussion on the effects of different solid-to-liquid (S/L) ratios (0.97 to 1.19) and nanoSiO2 (NS) percentages (0% to 3%) on some properties of metakaolin (MK)-based geopolymers. The setting time and compressive strength were investigated. Mercury intrusion porosimetry, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were used to determine the m...
متن کاملStructures of alkali metals in silica gel nanopores: new materials for chemical reductions and hydrogen production.
Alkali metals and their alloys can be protected from spontaneous reaction with dry air by intercalation (with subsequent heating) into the pores of silica gel (SG) at loadings up to 40 wt %. The resulting loose, black powders are convenient materials for chemical reduction of organic compounds and the production of clean hydrogen. The problem addressed in this paper is the nature of the reducin...

Alkali activated material has recently attracted great attention as an environmentally friendly building material. Generally, it exhibits higher mechanical properties and better durability when compared with Portland cement based materials. In this article, mixed alkali activated systems consisting of N-A-S-H and C-A-S-H hydrated gels were produced, using metakaolin as a dominated starting mate...
